I'm not just referring to the politicians - probably should have been clearer. It is Democrats who are stupid. Watching California over the years I believe Democrats - based on the way state votes - actually believes this. It defies logic, and that to me means it's rooted in stupidity. Whatever percentage votes for Democrats, that's the percentage of stupid. OR the Democrats have stayed in office all these years by massive cheating at the polls. I grew up south of Chicago where it was a known fact that the dead rose up on Election Day to keep Richard Daley and the Democrat Machine in power. At least back then, Daley knew how to run the mechanics of the city. Thanks for your comments!

I’m not sure the fault lies only with politicians for these disastrous policies. Do you believe that the people of California actually believe all this? I do. After all, they have been told for years and decades about evil insurance companies, evil police, evil fossil fuels, evil nuclear energy, evil farmers, etc. I fear that too many believe the fires were/are directly caused by global warming and climate change, and there was nothing their officials could do to prevent or even mitigate the destruction. Outside of California, Newsome is probably finished as a politician. But inside? Same old.

I prefer the written word over podcast. The stupidity among the Dem leaders is beyond belief and beyond just stupidity. It’s an absolute waste of billions promoting their DEI as an overreaching achievement that only leads to mismanagement and incompetence. The entire Dem party leadership used this as their primary goal. Biden-Harris screamed daily about it. Every single person in their administration was an incompetent fool who knew nothing of their official duties, including both Biden and Harris. The Dem governors followed suit along with the military top brass. When race and sexual orientation is rated above merit, our country becomes a disaster.

Thanks Ruth, and I'll try to get more written columns done. And thank you for your comments. They help to make Dictator better.

This episode in California just might open the eyes of many that there is another political party with better common sense and values. Two-party systems function much better than people realize.

You are correct. Our system works. It just did. In a few days it will be working even better.

I have my doubts. Criticism from the right will cause them to circle the wagons and rally being Newsom and Bass. You can see it happening already. They will convince themselves that it's really the right who are doing this to them. It will all be the fault of price gouging (eye roll) landlords and contractors.

Sorry - to clarify by Our system works" I was referring to the larger system with Trump in the Whitehouse. Not California. You're correct on the California side, where I suspect they are still looking for ways to blame Trump for the fires.

first, let me say I prefer the written word, so glad you're here. Second, I'm not sure it's not malicious intent. The DNC has been in bed with the PRC for a long time. All of this is playing into their hands, and well... Malice guided by the PRC is not imposible.

Thanks!! I think term limits would alleviate much though not all. But that’s another column.
